Better known for their hurricane lanterns, Veritas also produced road danger lamps. These have a number of interesting featues such as an upward sliding access door, easily replaced lenses, held in by wire clips and an orange paint finish, rather than red.
This one is in original and unfired condition. However due to poor storage the upper surfaces have rusted.
Careful study of the outer surface will reveal white overspray from the lens collars, over the orange paint, giving a clue as to how and when these were paiinted as part of the production process.
The interior is painted white in order to reflect the burner flame.
